Over the past 30 plus years I've lived all over the United States. I've experienced drastic changes in our economy including the numerous ups and downs in the real estate market. I've lived through gas shortages, frozen wages, controlled housing costs, 19% mortgage rates, volatile stock markets and the real estate recession of 1991 which I personally took a financial hit.
However, never in my life have I experienced or even could I envision what we've seen in the last few years. The economy went from an all time high to a low, not seen since the great depression. Net worth and real estate values dropped faster than a rock in a water well.
OK, so here's a question: Why would anyone want to get into Real Esate in the middle of this economic down turn? Good Question? Maybe it's because I wanted to help those distressed home owners in finding ways to keep their homes and / or from going into foreclosure. Or maybe I just love real estate or both?
It's still going to be a hard road to follow in the last half of 2010 and throughout 2011. This economic down turn will stick around for a while, but we'll come out stronger than before.
We must pull ourselves up by our boot staps, dust ourselves off and do our part to get our economy back on track.
